Trackpoint center button dooes not work on some applications

I just got my X61 here. But the center button (I set for scroll) does not work on some application.

IN the setting under Control Panel\Mouse\TrackPoint, there are 3 setting for Center Button:

- Standard: In this mode, I can scroll in IE, but not MS Outlook, MS Word.
- Smooth: Can scroll in Word, Outlook, but not IE.
- Auto-select: Still some work, some can not.

This is very irritating since you have to move your mouse pointer to the scroll bar instead of quickly scrolling using the center button.

Is there any solution for this? Does anyone of you have the same issue? Pls advise.
