Logitech diNovo Edge keybord problem with X60 tablet

Here it goes:

I use a Logitech diNovo Edge keybord with my X60 tablet. However, rather than blocking an additional USB port with extra bluetooth receiver that comes with the keyboard, I configured it to work with the built in blootooth receiver of the X60.

The problem:

The keyboard has a touch-sensitive slider for the volume control. This creates two problems:

1) Whenever I use the slider, the annoying green volume indicator appears on the screen (the same that appears when you use the thinkpad buttons to adjust the volume). However, it doesn't actually indicate the volume, it always shows the last setting I set it to using the buttons.

2) Sometimes (sometimes quite often) the volume gets adjusted without me touching the controls. I have no idea why and how. Is anybody else experiencing this problem, or is this likely to be a hardware error in my particular keyboard.

If there is an easy fix for this, I would prefer it rather than sending the keyboard back..

Thanks a lot!

Well, you've indicated that it might be the keyboard. Try the dongle and see if the symptoms change. Are you running the Logitech software?

Thanks!

Well, I initially tried without installing the Logitech software.
Now that I installed it, the problem is still the same, but with one difference:

The volume slider does not work at all anymore. In this case, this is good news, because that means my volume doesn't get changed all the time.

However, the touchpad is still reacting to something, so I get the stupic green volume indicator (not the thinkpad one, but a logitech one) on the screen every 2 minutes. While it doesn't have an effect on the actual volume setting, it is still nerve wracking.

Any help is appreciated!

Does it work right with their bluetooth connection?

It sounds to me like a POS keyboard.

It suggested basically the same thing, "Try the dongle and see if the symptoms change" but got no answer.
