Power manager weird bug?

#1 Post by hserus » Tue Aug 07, 2007 12:06 am

Hi. Brand new X60s here.

Ran the software installer (rather than system update 3) to update some software drivers .. and came up with a power manager + power management driver version that seems to be the latest from the lenovo website -

ThinkPad Power Management Driver 1.43
ThinkPad Power Manager 1.16

And then I started getting an error where the power management applet would briefly show me errors like battery not present (and the applet grayed out), or battery has less than 1% charge in it, 26 minutes to charge. And the Message Center sends me "Battery Error is detected". This lasts for a few seconds after which the battery indicator goes back to normal.

However - the power manager applet's battery information screen says the battery is just fine.

Screenshots here -

ps: Anybody know a usable driver for the thinkpad? I installed the one in MIGR 68057 (6.14.10.4785) and am not able to find an alternative driver .. one I downloaded off the Intel website says "not validated for your installation, please contact your vendor"

thx

The battery seems functional and doesnt power off the laptop even if the indicator shows 0% and then comes back later.

Anybody else seeing this?

thanks

somebody got a link to the older version of the driver? have tried uninstalling and reinstalling this current driver 2..3 times, no go :(

lenovo support suggested a system restore to an earlier point, something I am not particularly interested in doing unless as a last resort.
