Blue Thinkpad button and/or F11 no longer work

#1 Post by Altadena_Mark » Thu Aug 09, 2007 9:17 am

My new X61s is only a week old. It's my first TP. I wanted to make sure that the R&R worked in case I needed it in the future. Nothing happens when I press F11 and I only get a limited menu with the Blue thinkpad button on boot up. The only thing I've done since I received the TP was to let it go through an automated update. On the update, it updated my BIOS from 1.05 to 1.06. I think I remember reading somewhere that if a BIOS is updated after the R&R in installed, it no longer works. Is it possible to fix this and could some please help me recover this function. Thanks.

I tried the update version and it failed at the end and rolled back. Should I try the full version? Thanks.

I am going to doubt it. Infact that's not true at all.

Call lenovo and explain what you're experiencing, they should send you a free set of Product Recovery Disks.

Could you please give me the phone number to call to get a set of Product Recovery Disks? Thanks.

Thank you all. I called this morning and they're sending me out a set of recovery disks at no charge.
