SXGA+ screen no longer available for X61 tablet!

As anyone noticed that they removed the SXGA+ option for the X61 tablet? I guess with all their supply problems they decided to just remove the option altogether. I ordered one with an SXGA+ screen last week, and I'm getting a little worried.

wow, this is really crazy. I guess they are acknowledging this issue. I sure as heck hope that the unit I ordered 2 months ago will be delivered with that display as they commited to.
At this moment, it still shows as an option for the x60 tablet in more than one of its configurations. But not the x61 tablet.
Hopefully it's only for new orders and better yet, that it's temporary until they get the supplier issues resolved.
When did you order yours etherelithic? and when is the ESD for yours?

I ordered mine on July 31st, and the EST is September 1st. I've been perusing the tabletpcreview forums as well and apparently a lot of people who placed their orders mid to late July already got theirs, making people think that their supply problems were over. I'm not really sure what's going on, and if they can't give me the SXGA+ screen I'm going to just cancel my order.

I saw on TPCR that the last batch of SXGA+ screens they got were ALL bad...
My machine (with an SXGA+ screen) already shipped, and is held up in customs...

bhtooefr,
that's crazy that your sxga+ tablet already shipped! You just ordered it!
I ordered mine June 20 and still have no shipment of it!!!!!
How do they run this business?????

Honestly, I don't know.
I think they've realized that the customers that ordered a while ago are [censored] already, and they can wait a while longer, and they don't want the new customers [censored]? That doesn't ACTUALLY make sense, because it can (and does) lead to cancelled orders, but that's my theory.
Mine was part of an order from a K-12 school, but still... I wasn't on the critical or any of the other lists... and others that ordered individually from the Lenovo site also got theirs with similar order dates and the same ESD shipped LONG before.
Mine was ordered... IIRC, July 24. It shipped August 6. ESD was August 27.

Ordered July 9th.
Ship date was August 3rd, then moved to August 9th (yesterday).
No update in status (still "in progress"), so I assume the ship date will change again. Grrr.
I might order one of the new T61p's in the 4:3 14" form factor and see if it gets here before the tablet ...

That explains what's going on with my SVGA+ X60t that I just sent back for warranty repair due to the 1/3 screen issue. The service call details says:
Hold for Parts - Service call is on hold until parts arrive, estimated at:
(there is no date listed!)
I guess they don't know when screens are coming in? At least its nice to know that they're replacing the whole LCD for this issue, rather than just re-connecting a loose connection. There's no big rush for me to get my X60 back, its not needed until mid-September.

They might be changing screen vendor or new SXGA LED backlit displays are coming
I ordered on 22nd July, ETA next week. I hope my SXGA will be ok...

I suspect that they're going to switch the X61t over to whatever the X60t used, because the X61t screens have had so many issues, both in supply and quality control.

As expected Lenovo updated the ship date to Sept. 11th. Sigh, 14" T61p here I come ... race!

I finally got my x60 tablet back from lenovo for repair of the sxga display. it had the "shivvering, grayed-out lower 1/3 screen" problem. i sent it in July 29. it just came back on monday 8/20. geeeeeeeeezus.
this just blows my mind. i can't believe how bad my beloved ibm/lenovo has become at customer service & repairs. i still love thinkpads, but it's getting more & more difficult to stay loyal to these products.
