X61s: How to tell if my X61s has the Ultralight display?

I got a X61s off eBay and I noticed 2 parts that are inconsistent with the listing on eBay. 3 inconsistencies if the display is not ultralight.

On the label on the outer package, a line reads:

0000042X0100 BASE UL L7500 1.6

Does that means this X61s has the "base" display and hence does not have the ultralight display?

I also tried looking up display in device manager but can't find anything to the effect of ultralight.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Well, a X61s TMD UltraLight panel isn't detectable via the device manager etc. You can only get maybe a hint about it if you use some sort of harware system information software (Everest, Linux/Knoppix boot CDs which show up the hardware configs etc.). Then you might get some spare infos about the panel, which should be in case of a UltraLight (UL) panel a TMD panel.

However, the usual easier way of finding out, if an UL panel is applied, is via the X61s model and serial numbers and an according online configuration check at the Lenovo/IBM website.

Another possibility is of course, to open the display case and look what is printed on the backside of the panel, but I doubt that you want to go this way if you are not experienced in disassembling Thinkpad notebook hardware. :D

You can find out how to determine which screen you have if you read my posting in this thread:
