Wireless does not work after hibernation

#1 Post by dwkor » Wed Aug 15, 2007 10:11 pm

Hi guys,

I've made clean Vista install on x61 tablet. Everything works fine except one thing - my wireless connection does not work after I resume from hibernation.

I've tried both - Thinkvantage Access connection utility and native vista management with Intel ProSet installed (latest 11.1.1 from intel site). In first case - Thinkvantage - it fails on "Waiting for IP address stage". On second (Vista) - it does not see network at all (my SSID is not broadcasting). Is there any way to fix it?

One other question - is there any version of Intel ProSet for vista which works in old XP way - i.e. utility which I can run and specify profiles? Right now I see only Intel ProSet link in Vista network connection, which does not do anything, but diagnostic, statistics and import profiles.

Thank you!

Don't quote me on this, but I think the recently released hotfixes do something about this.

I have had the same problem for a few months now, intermittently: Sometimes wireless works after hibernation, often it doesn't. Sometimes I can do what I want, nothing but a reboot helps.

I just updated my Intel Wireless LAN 4965AGN to driver 11.5.1.8 (ThinkVantage Update calls this 11.5.0.APIc). After the reboot the card did not properly connect to the internet, only after a card reset and assigning a new IP address in Network and Sharing Center.

So something is still fishy. Will get back with better statistics.

NB: Note that you can restart any device with a single command, in this case devcon.exe restart *DEV_4230 (check the device id first using devcon.exe find pci*). Saves you a lot of clicks and waits.
