Sleep state = 14% of battery in 9 hours. Is that normal?
I left my X61T over night in sleep mode, not attached to charget. The small, 4C battery lost 14% in a period of apx. 9 hours. Is that normal? Doesn't the sleep mode allow it to be suspended for a longer period?
Another question related to sleep/hibernate mode... Will the computer start to run slower once I've hibernated it and woke it up, hibernate again etc. ?

14% does seem to be a lot - but I'm wondering if you have the 8 or 4 cell battery? 14% of a 4 cell isn't as significant as 14% of an 8 cell.
I'm not sure about hibernation and Vista, but I've hibernated my system numerous times without a reboot in between (right now, for example) with XP and it runs fine.

Keep in mind that more memory equals more power consumed in sleep.
The idea of sleep, just so you know, is that the computer shuts everything off except the RAM. DRAM requires a refresh at least once every 60ms or so, thats 100 times a minute, 6000 an hour, so in 9 hours you will have refreshed the entire RAM over 5,400 times. I would say 14% is pretty realistic, especially if you have 2gb or more of RAM.
My suggestion is to make your power button do hibernate instead of sleep. These things are quick out of hibernate, about 40sec here.

From my observational experience, it may appear that not all sleep modes are created equal. For example, within the power manager I set up a universal sleep activation upon closing the lid. In that scenario, going in an out of sleep mode was quick and painless. However, I notice the computer lost more power while idling in sleep moder. When I set close the lid=do nothing and manually put my computer to sleep, the power drain was less.
