Vista unable to install USB to IDE driver

My USB-IDE box containing a DVD burner works fine with XP, but won't work with Vista.

"Windows was unable to install your USB to IDE"

Any suggestions?

The hardware is fine with the drive, so when the XP boot disc arrives everything should go as planned.
