X60T MV/MT - Battery lifetime after downgrading to XP?

Hi,

I'm thinking about a downgrade from vista to xp only because of the terrible battery liefespan I have with an 8-cell. My eyes are getting really angry when I reduce the display-brightness to a battery-friendly value so I have it only one step down from max, (wich is still pretty dark in my opinion), but processor-speed is locked to minimum, bluetooth is off, (wireless not, of course - I need it), all the other settings are adjusted to minimize power consumption - but my battery is still sucked out after about 3 hours.

Has anyone allready finished his downgrade and can report about a significantly improved battery-time?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I bought my X61t with Windows XP Tablet Edition and the battery life (8-cell battery) has always been good. I get 4-hours of use easily, and its probably closer to five hours.

I haven't needed to use the entire battery life yet, but I might have to coming up, so I'll report back then.

Many thanks for that info! So I think my X60 should benefit from a downgrade also, cause it seems that battery-lifespan is mostly comparable on X60 and X61.

I hope Lenovo adresses German users with its free downgrading offer too.
