Low frequency buzzing from speakers....sometimes

So, I turned up the volume on my X60 too high I think when the external speaker was connected. It began a low frequency buzzing sound and appeared to be broken. However, now it works fine, both with an external speaker, headphones, or the internal. Although, not when I use Skype. The buzzing sound is still present and rather annoying. Hasn't done that before. Any suggestions?
