I have a pretty full dock-o-stuff: every port and then some is taken up with hard drivers and other devices.
1) More often than not (and this is a recent occurence) my x60 will not start in dock. It will turn on, show the Thinkpad logo...stand there...and then switch off. If I remove it from the dock it starts up just fine. I am running the latest Vista and Thinkpad everything.
2) Another problem. Very rarely my machine just turns off (smoothly though...screen fades to black and machine dies). I think this is because it is overheating. Ive been noticing this behavior since I had wireless on in the dock (my room is about 80 degrees right now fyi). I don't use wifi (radio off) but sync my Smartphone via BT a few times an hour. The right palm rest gets very warm.
Is this something I should talk to Lenovo about or is it a combination of a warm room + all filled usb ports + wireless taking its toll on my system....could this do permanent damage?
Thanks for all your help!!!
Cliff Notes:
issue 1: x60 wont boot in dock
issue 2: possible overheating
