Hi all!

Has anyone who owns X61/X61s ever tried its Intel 4965AGN card installed in X60/X60s?

Like other X60/X60s owners, I have been bothered by heat of right palmrest of my X60s in which Atheros card is installed. In this forum, I learned that 4965AGN is much cooler than Atheros and even 3945ABG. However, according to some posts, BIOS rock prevents generic 4965AGN from working on X60/X60s and no trick has been found to avoid this rock yet.

So, I would like to go for next possibility. How about Lenovo authentic 4965AGN card? While Lenovo does not currently sell 4965AGN separately, at least as a maintainance parts of X61/X61s, it will be able to be purchased separately sometime in the future.

However, there may be another problem; BIOS rock depending on ThinkPad models. I think, it may be happen where only X61/X61s is allowed to work with 4965AGN but X60/X61 dose not because 4965AGN is provided by Intel as a component of Centrino Pro and, more practically, Lenovo might get its clearance from authorities only in combination with X61/X61s but not with X60/X60s.

So, I would like to make sure whether X60/X60s is rocked out by BIOS from using Lenovo authentic 4965AGN.
