Interesting pricing on certain models this morning. Anyone think they will actually ship it to me?

Looks like you only bought the 1 year depot warranty. If you were charged for the machine, you'd get a far more detailed list of machine parts.

Well - they listed a CPU, DRAM, Hard Drive, LCD

If I even get those, it will be OK. :D

Doubt you will...If you ordered the machine, each machine part (down to the labels that get affixed) will be individually listed along with their part numbers. For example you should see:

I don't get that detailed list no matter what machine I put in my cart. I get 8-12 items listed. I tried a T61, for example.

you're only charged when it ships.   if it actually ships then he'll get a detailed list like what you've shown above.

since when is there an 1.8 ghz x61s?

Since today - that's why I was looking for a new machine.

The chip was supposed to launch on 9/2. No word from Intel - but X61s configurations started showing up on Lenovo sites in Poland, Ireland, Germany, and the U.K. over the weekend. I was holding off my X61s order until I could get this chip on CTO - so I went to the site this morning. It was an option - but now it is gone.

my order got canceled this morning.   i'll be surprised if yours slips through the cracks but wish you luck nonetheless. :)

are you sure?   using the customer/order numbers from your PDF posted above, your order status still shows as being "in process".

Mine still in process

Mine says it's still in process...
Will it actually ship?
Est. ship date is 9/27.

Was there ever a case where they actually shipped a product with price mistake?

If it does - I'll give you twice what you paid for it. :D

What really ticks me off is that I still can't seem to order a 1.8GHz X61s

you can... you just have to phone in your order.

Does that mean no online coupons? :(

you'd have to ask a sales rep about using coupons over the phone.   explain that you cannot order the processor because it's not currently an option on the website and he/she should be able to help you out.

on another note, i think i know why our "pricing error" X61s orders all got canceled... they didn't get configured with a processor.   i turned my spare quote into an order a few days ago and it's been alive and kicking ever since.   i never got a confirmation email so i decided to send myself one using the 'email/print' button on the order page.   below is the first part of my configuration:

7668CTO LENOVO THINKPAD X61S 7668 - NO CPU TFT $xxx.xx
Product Description: Lenovo ThinkPad X61s 7668 - no CPU TFT
Weight: 3.1 lbs
System Type: Notebook
Built-in Devices: Wireless LAN antenna
Processor: No CPU
RAM: 0 MB DDR II SDRAM
Display: TFT active matrix
Audio Output: Sound card
Networking: Network adapter - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet
Input Device: Keyboard, TrackPoint
Power: AC 120/230 V ( 50/60 Hz )

so, that might explain it. :)   memory is listed above as 0 MB but "1GB PC2-5300 667MHZ 1DIMM" is listed later in the build sheet.   however, i could not find a processor listed whatsoever -- thus explaining the ~$1000 pricing error.

i highly doubt a machine would ever leave the warehouse without a processor.   afaik, the X-series processors are permanently soldered onto the motherboard, making this configuration completely impossible to purchase regardless of price.

Thanks for your help. I ordered one by phone. They did let me use a coupon and there was no price difference for the L7700!

I would have taken one without a CPU for $74...

I too ordered a "special price" X61s, with a price tag of about $200. So far the order has not been canceled, but today was the designated shipping date, and they have delayed it to 10/16. I expected them to void the order at any time, but they haven't, and I don't really know what to make of this whole thing. I know other forum members have these special orders too. What's going on with all of yours?
