Problem with formating my x61s during boot from xp cd.

#1 Post by mretrade » Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:51 pm

I really need some help.

I am trying to reformat my x61s with a brand new xp pro cd. I am doing the option of booting from the cd. The cd I am booting on is through the thinkpad dock. When windows goes through everything it says that it is unable to detect a hard drive. Why is this? Any ideas? The hard drive works fine. Its frusterating me.

You need to change SATA to compatability modus in bios. If you search the forum for compatability modus, you'll find a load of information.

modus = mode (in English)
