TurboBoost and Turbomemory questions/problems

I've had my X61 tablet for a month now, and have been experiencing problems with the Turbomemory/boost that IBM can' t/won't help with, and there is "0" information at intel.

My system came loaded with 2G RAM + 1G Turbomemory. I started using a Cruzer 2G USB drive for ReadyBoost, and it worked great until I had a crash (BSD). From that point on I get a message that "a cache exists on another device in the system. Please remove the cache from that device before creating a cache on this device"

When I start the Intel Turbomemory console, it seems to show that everything is enabled, but when I look at the system info (Intel Turbo memory tab) it sates the following "Cache disk location:0 Capacity 93.1 GB" meaning that the cache is somewhere on my hard drive. This persisted even after I went through the trouble of restoring it back to the state as delivered.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Sorry I meant readyboost where ever I said turbo boost.

Turbo memory gets split into two equal partitions. One is used for ReadyDrive and the other for ReadyBoost.

Vista only supports one ReadyBoost drive.

I suggest you stop trying to use the USB drive for ReadyBoost, and make sure you have the latest Intel Turbo Memory driver (check their website).

AnandTech published an informative article about Turbo Memory a couple of months ago.

I guess its always the simplest answer.. THANKS

My system must have been set uo only for ready drive when it worked before. I Just unchecked ReadyBoost in the Intel Console, and the USB Drive is now working in ReadyBoost.
Thanks.
