Multi Touch Screen Usage

So I received my X61 with the multi touch screen, but to be honest, I'm wondering what advantage this screen offers over the regular screens? I have used my tablet already (after learning a few things in 1.5 days) but cannot figure out what the purpose of multi-touch really is? Anyone know where this information can be found or know what the advantages are? Thanks for the help!

The screen might be a bit more durable also. Just because of the pressure needed to actually register a press.
Its not meant to replace the stylus. But lets say you have a big button you want to press. Or move a window when in tablet mode. And someone else has the pen. You can use your finger.

I am currently in an Executive MBA program, thus, I make lots of presentations and I've grown to like touching the screen to change slides and such when I'm discussing things with my teammates. I also watch movies in slate mode when I fly and I find navigating around a dvd movie I'm watching (i.e volume control, scene selection) with my fingers is also very convenient.

I too cannot figure out how to make the touch screen useful. I would love to be able to use my screen with one tap like on a treo but have been unable to. I am sure I just to adjust some settings.

For me the biggest advantage is that u dont have hold your pen while browsing the web, or to just press one button. It is a time saver nothing more.

Living in the nyc, more than tenth of my day is spent on commuting. So I find my touch screen indispensable.
Besides the fact that taking out the pen in a train is such a hassle, sometimes it's much more than a hassle, i.e. it is an impossibility.
An example would be when I'm standing instead of sitting. I read a lot of stuff, and I'm always in tablet mode when I don't have a seat. And when I don't have a seat, I can't really hold the tablet on one hand, and the pen on the other, because I need to hold on to something so that I don't fall during ever so present abrupt stops and turns. I have other applications too, but this seems to be the most common for me.
