X61T: XGA / XGA Multitouch

#1 Post by doherrick » Thu Sep 20, 2007 3:46 pm

Do these screens use the same panel, the only difference being the MultiTouch feature?

I am thinking of purchasing a Model 7767-02U Top Seller. It has the plain XGA screen and I really don't care about the touch feature--just the screen quality.

The only difference I can see on paper is that the XGA is specifed as 155 nits and the Multitouch is specified as 150 nits

Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question for certain, but 155 vs 150 nits could be explained by the screen layer that handles the touch input.

I've got a touchscreen that I've taken apart for my home theater pc and it was basically piece of plastic sitting between the external "glass" and the lcd panel. It did reduce the amount of light out of the lcd. Whether that was 5 nits or 50, I couldn't tell you.
