How much did you pay for your X61/X61s/X61T

#1 Post by iamdmc » Sat Sep 22, 2007 12:36 am

The current Lenovo.com price is around $1800USD/CAD (the dollar is on parity!)

So how much did you pay for it - assume that 1USD=1CAD, even if it wasn't when you purchased it (after shipping and taxes)

Also, where did you get it?

(edit: No $1400-$1600 option. Poll was made at 2AM, so bear with me. Just vote for the closest option.

Note from Moderator: Added category for tablets not purchased by the user.

I haven't bought an X61 but my friend spent $2,400 on her X61 with most hardware and software upgrade options added, e.g. 3GB RAM, Microsoft Office 2007, etc. I voted for her.

I would have voted, but you are missing the $1400-$1600 range :).

LOL!

I think "Less than $1000" and "Stolen" should be separated.

I ordered my X61s at the beginning of July from Lenovo's USA website (not the Canadian site) for $968 USD - $58 FatWallet cashback = $910 USD.

Config:
X61s
Ultrabright display
512MB
60GB
Bluetooth
3945ABG
8-cell battery

I also bought 2 x 1GB SODIMMs for $70 (NXsource.com) and a 4-cell slimline battery and extra AC adapter bundle for $94 (visaperks.ca).

Dang, you're right - but I did make the poll at 2AM. Just vote closest to your price range.

I myself payed $1400 after $80 shipping, 6% Canadian GST, and a $40 RAM upgrade. Check my specs in my sig.

I don't get what the poll will show since X61s are lumped together with X61t's... Tablets are always a few hundred $$ more.

Gotta run now, but I'll post my config later.

I paid $1531.50 delivered.
Specs:
x61t, sxga+, 2GB RAM, 80 GB HD (should have bought bigger), 1GB turbo mem, Intel ABG, Bluetooth, Vista Business (should have bought xp), fingerprint (standard?) and an extra Digitizer pen.

Then I went out and bought a cheap USB dual layer optical drive for about $70.

I had an older thinkpad with docking station years ago, and never once used the docking station so didn't bother this time.

My purchase was made during the back-to-school sale, plus I used one of the extra 15% off coupons, plus it was a sales-tax-free-holiday weekend (some states have these for back-to-school purchases) and lenovo had free-shipping as well. It took 9 days from order to delivery.

I forgot to mention, 1-year standard warranty, since I've never had a laptop hardware problem (6 laptops over 17 years).

Your specs were almost identical to mine and I bought mine with a $450 discount plus 15% off, not free shipping however, and I received my machine 11 days from ordering it. It cost me a TOTAL with Tax of 7% $1686.75...I did, however, get XP instead of Vista since I heard there are way too many bugs with Vista and it's a drag on performance.

Um, take a look at the last option. Is zero not less than $1000 at your company?

(I think they should take it back... as soon as possible...)

Paid $1340 CDN + tax for my X60T 1.66 Core Duo, XGA Screen, 1GB ram, 80 GB hd, no bluetooth, 3 year warranty
It was a demo model from my university's bookstore but it didn't have a mark on it. List for this model when I bought it was $1999 CDN from the Lenovo site with no discounts.
