X60 63666au should I add RAM?

Hi all,
First of all I am sorry about my English.
1. I own X60 63666au with 2X512 RAM and I run Vista business.
2. Is it a good idea to remove one of the 512 chips and buy 1 giga?
3. Do you have any experience with Twinmos memory?

More RAM wouldn't hurt at all. Vista could always use all the RAM you give it.
If you intend to do that though, I would suggest paying a few dollars off to get a higher-quality RAM like Crucial or Corsair ValueSelect, or you may face problems mixing RAMs of different brands in your current laptop.
That few dollars more could just give you a peace of mind.

Yes. I have found that 2GB is a big improvement over 1GB for vista.
Or - you could just get XP instead....
I have found 1GB DDR2 SODIMM prices to be very competitive recently. I just bought a pair for $80 with a $20 rebate.

Manufacturer's contract prices for memory have just dropped to a new low for 2007. We are already seeing dropping prices on memory comparable to the spring price drop - expect to see memory prices probably drop even more in the next 1 - 2 months.

2GB PC2-5300 modules were $600 a piece less than a year ago. Now, they are under $100. Get one to replace one of your 512MB sticks to get 2.5GB total. You'd get a more obvious performance gain than increasing to 1.5GB.

I usually buy 1GB DDR2-677 sticks for $40 after tax and shipping.

But that's for 2x2GB. The OP's X60 can't use both sticks.

Why not? - I thought the X60 has 2 SODIMM slots (as per TABOOK).

Windows can use only up to 3.2GB. So, it's better to upgrade to 1GB + 2GB = 3GB and save some money.

Would it be worth putting in 2x2GB anyway, even though you "lose" 800MB, so that dual channel memory is enabled?
AFAIK with integrated shared-memory graphics systems like the GMA950 in the X60, the dual channel memory improves graphics performance in Vista. (I haven't tried Vista for a while, so my memory is hazy)
I guess at current price points for 2GB SODIMMS it's still not economically viable, but may be something worth taking into account.

I installed windows xp tablet edition ... solved all of my problems.
