random small grey line happening at the screen wallpaper

#1 Post by ylim » Mon Sep 24, 2007 6:54 pm

Hi there,

I have a x60 and it is weird. Small grey line (about 5-6 pixels) can randomly appear at the screen wallpaper. The weird thing is that if i change the wallpaper, it will disappear but will return later.

Any solution? Please advise.

Stuck or dead pixels perhaps.

Try hooking it up to an external monitor and diagnose the problem from there.

You can try updating the BIOS and GPU drivers to the latest versions, I doubt it will help but you can give it a try:

I know what is a struck or dead pixels. But mine like a few lines of 5-6 pixels in horizontal fashion.

And the weird thing is it only appears recent and at random times and it goes away when i change the wallpaper. And it only appears on the wallpaper but not on the other programs windows. It is weird.
