Can't Turn on Wireless

#1 Post by tinman1412 » Tue Sep 25, 2007 2:31 pm

Hi,

I can't seem to turn on my wireless. When I open "thinkvantage" and click on "turn on wireless" I get a prompt that says something like "wireless radio is off in BIOS or it's been turned off by hardware switch". Can someone help me with this and tell me how I can turn on my wireless again

thanks,

There is a switch on the front left of your TP sort of hidden under the edge of the palm rest, is it set to on?

I'm sorry, can you be more specific. Which palm rest are you talking about. Also, is the switch a button or what does the switch look like. I'm sorry, it should be more trivial but I'm failry new to the thinkpads.

thanks

There is a hardware switch on the front edge of your TP. If you lift the front of it so as you can see the front edge, there is a hardware switch, next to a little grey picture, which slides from left to right. The palm rest is the area between you and the keyboard, it has the mouse buttons in the middle.

Well I'll be blown - I never knew that switch was there!

I have just had this happen to me in the last couple of days and logged on to see how to fix it. Must have got moved by mistake.

Thanks very much for that! You learn something new every day...

Jonathan
