Is it possible to upgrade an X61s without turbomemory to have turbomemory?

What's the benefit of turbomemory anyway?

It may be possible to add turbo memory. Lenovo has been inconsistent from what I can tell in whether or not the motherboard has the header for the 2nd PCI-E. Explained below...

There are 2 PCI-E slots on the X61 motherboard. One is used for WiFi. The other may be used for WWAN. If you don't have WWAN then you have an open slot. Some people have reported receiving boards that have the header on the 2nd slot which would allow one to add turbo memory. I do not have WWAN so I should have a 2nd available slot - however, my 2nd empty slot is void of a header so I cannot actually attach a PCI-E card. Why Lenovo did this is beyond me.

Vista doesn't get much of a boost from turbo memory at the moment anyway. I have heard that SP1 will address this issue. By the time that is released there will likely be 2GB and even 4GB turbo memory cards released by Intel at reasonable prices.

I say load up your system with regular SODIMM memory and forget about turbo memory for now.
