X60 - Will it last? (Pics)

#1 Post by techaz » Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:14 pm

Hey! I'm so glad there is a place for thinkpad owners to go with questions that need real answers!
So my X60 is great, but there are a couple problems I have with it.
1. The battery life. At 100% on Maximum Battery Life I have about 5 hours 8 minutes. I just want to confirm this is expected. I initially had another X60 and I feel like it would hit 6 hours. This one is has a Verizon WWAN, the other didn't.

2. The active rotate feature rotates every time I return from sleep mode. This is annoying as I cannot use my computer for 1-3 mins after I log in and let it start up. The only way to stop this is to disable the feature, which I prefer to make use of.
3. My tablet pen puts scratches on the screen, I know its the pen (Not from touching the screen-multitouch) because the scratches match some of my notes. I see wide eraser scratches on the screen as well. Does the warranty cover this? It should, its the stock pen that is causing this and I fear that the scratches will fog up my screen eventually.
Here are some screen protectors I am looking at to prevent further screen damage:

MOD EDIT: Please add picture warning in the subject line in future. Thanks.

1. With 169 cycles done, I would term it very normal and your getting still over 5 hours of battery life is a sign of good healthy battery.

3. No, warranty is not going to cover that.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
