Thinkpad X61 Issues & Questions

Hello all,

I just received my TP X61 and my friend's X61 running Vista Basic (he had his shipped to my house as well for me to configure for him).

While his was performing well and loading properly upon start up, mine on the other hand mine would take an abnormal amount of time to load everything (like the sidebar, explorer would crash, and etc.)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it may be? I know I'm not giving every single bit of detail, but I wanted to ask if anyone has had any odd occurance with Vista as I am having (considering it's still a new/buggy OS). I'm also asking because we're running the same exact things/specs as well. (except mine is a 2.2Ghz, his is a 2.0)

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, PC-Doctor gave me no indication of any hw issues.
