X61T + 64bit = bad performance?

#1 Post by auchenberg » Sun Oct 07, 2007 10:37 am

Hey..

I've just recieved my X61 T ([censored] its nice), and since im using 4gb of memory in the near future, I installed Vista Business x64..

The install went smooth and im not missing a single driver.. great! :)

But sometimes the machine is lagging... It seems like a graphics issue, because it occurs when i'm change windows focus (aero glass).. The machine freezes for a sec or two, then it "wakes up" agian..

Actually right now my old R52 with a 1,8 p4 and 1gb of memory is more responsive than my brand new X61T... :(

Does anyknow know this issue or something similar?

And you`re using Windows XP on Thinkpad R52?

how much memory are you using right now?   vista is painfully slow with only 1GB and requires 2GB+ to run better.

Sorry for this delayed reply.. I simply forgot this post..

My old R52 is running Vista Business 32bit...

Well... My X61T is running great after installing the 4gb of memory, before I used the default 1gb, and the 64bit experience was painful. But with 4gb - [censored] its fast!

So, the issue is resolved by installing 4gb memory :)
