Seagate 200GB 7200RPM VS Hitachi 200GB 7200RPM??
Seagate 200GB 7200RPM VS Hitachi 200GB 7200RPM??
Hello~ I have a Question.
Now, i want to buy 2.5 Inch 7200RPM 200GB Hard for X61T.
So, i want to choose Seagate or hitachi.
prices are alredy same. But I wonder that which one is more better? About noiseless and Hard`s vibration and heat.
I am curious. ^^ Thanks for reading!

I'd check how much current each drive takes, assume the resistance is the same for both, and use that as your tie-breaker. This will give you about how much heat each unit will produce and how much battery life you can expect.
I like both brands myself... Seagate's warranty is 2 full years longer, last I checked. However, IBM has been using Hitachi's over any other drive in most of their Thinkpads. They usually are a bit louder, but have great reliability.
In closing, flip a coin
Or just google them for a comparison

I have had several of hte Hitachi Travelstars (labled IBM) fail (1 30gb, 2 40 gb, and 1 60gb) so I was not the least bit interested in buying them and ended up with 3 Seagates so far. I like the 5 year warrantee, the speed, and how quiet they are. The hitachi's may or may not spec out better, but I've been holding out for the Seagate 200GB, and now that you mention it's available I'm sure I'll have one before the year is out.
