Problems with wireless and ethernet connection - any ideas?

Hi there,

I have an X60s with XP and Panda Internet Security 2007. I have been happy but today I ran into a problem. For some reason I was suddenly cut-off the internet and I cannot get the wireless (or even the ethernet) connection to work. Yes, I have checked several times that the hardware switch for the wireless is turned on. The error message I am getting when trying to switch on the wireless says that "the wireless radio is switched off, would you like to turn it on?" (this is a translation of the Finnish message I get). I say yes, but nothing happens (and as I noted, I have also tried the ethernet connection but it doesn't work either). All this happened suddenly when I was working on the computer trying to start configuring my Logitech Harmony 1000 remote control - could it be related to the problem? Anyway, any and all ideas on what to do would be much appreciated!

Best regards,
Teme

Perform Windows System Restore.

The software you were trying to install broke the flow of the way things used to work on your thinkpad.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried it (in addition to taking down the firewall), but unfortunately neither proved to help or solve the problem.

I was in touch with Lenovo support and they will be picking the machine up on Monday. It looks like a hardware failure :(
