Wow Oblivion runs on my X61s!

#1 Post by tselling » Wed Oct 10, 2007 9:05 pm

I was able to get Oblivion running on my X61s. I downloaded and installed the latest driver from Intel. I also had to change a couple of things in the Oblivion.ini file too to keep it from crashing.... but I didn't have to resort to Oldblivion.

Guild Wars also runs without a problem on the X61s.

Of course the games look better on my T61p... but it seems the integrated cards have gotten quite a bit better.

I am amazed. Could you post a screenshot?

You don't want a screenshot, trust me. I have to play with Very Low settings to get decent frame rates on the X61s. By contrast, my T61p can play with Ultra High settings. I really only loaded it on the X61s because I was curious if it would play at all. The game requires hardware pixel shaders and hardware T&L so it couldn't be played at all on the intel cards previously.

Guild Wars doesn't look too bad though. It has far less strenuous requirements. Pretty cool that its an online game that doesn't charge a monthly fee. The pathing in that game is pretty annoying though.

Good news that GW runs okay, thats a favorite of mine. I hadnt really intened on playing any games on my X61s but now that I know some will actually run... I cant wait to try Morrowind.
