Disabling wireless auto-off?

I feel like this is a very simple problem, but haven't been able to fix it myself or find anything in the forums and would seem to apply.

Essentially, when connected to the internet, if I am not constantly moving through pages or downloading my X60T seems to shut down the wireless card. It only gives maybe 3-4 minutes, and then to continuing browsing I have to disconnect and then reconnect. Each time it gives the message about turning back on wireless capability, and then it works fine until I am not actively using the connection again (for instance I will have to disconnect/reconnect to send this post). I have tried the various power settings and this doesn't seem to help.

So can anyone recommend a way to shut off any wireless auto-off settings? Any help would be much appreciated.

Any firewall? Are you using Access Connections?

Try this (works on intel NIC):

My Computer > Right Click Properties > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click Properties on the network > Power Management > uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Thanks, no that doesn't seem to have done it. I'm using Access Connections, and I have both the Norton and Windows firewalls on.

The one issue I should add, is that before leaving the US and Canada this wasn't an issue, but since getting to the UK I've noticed it. Maybe a setting was changed at some point in the transition, but could it be a router-side issue? (And to be clear, this has been happening consistently across a number of networks)

If you do a search on the forum you will find similar experiences. I had the same thing happening to me but I installed a new wireless card and now it is fine.

Try Access controls > configure > global settings > enable automatic wireless LAN radio control
