X61 with external monitor shows "No Signal"
X61 with external monitor shows "No Signal"
I am getting a gray box saying "No Signal" in the middle of my 24" ACER X241W monitor which is directly connected to the Thinkpad X61 via VGA port.
The gray box comes up a few minutes after the X61 wakes up from sleep mode. But even it says "No Signal", apprently it has the signal because the monitor is still working (mostly), only the central area covered by the gray box (about 1.5" x 4" in size) is not accessible, all other area of the monitor shows correctly.
After a few minutes, the monitor goes black and then comes back and the gray box is gone. This happens quite a few time in the past few days. I got the machine on 8/30 so I assume all the drivers should be up to date. I have been using the X61 and the monitor for about 6 weeks and the problem only comes up recently.
Has any one seen this problem? And if you have, what did you do to fix this?
Thanks for any help.

That's probably because no one has the ACER X241W monitor. If you were having difficulty with the Dell 2407WFP monitor, which tons of people here own, I'm sure you would have gotten lots of help.ed wrote:I can't believe that there is no one has any idea at all.
