Intel 4965AG (n-disabled) - How to enable N-standard?

Hey all

I just received my brand new X61 Tablet... [censored] its nice..

My model contains a Intel 4965AG (n-disabled), and as you can see from the description the N-standard is disabled.

To investigate the hardware aspect, I opened my X61, too see the card itself:

As you can see at the picture, my X61T has three antennas = N-standard, but the model says 4965AG_ (underscore)

Is the limit hardware-based or is it only the firmware/software? :?:

How do I enable N-standard? :?:

Thanks...

MOD EDIT: Very large picture converted to link.

you'll probably need to buy a 4965AGN card.

hopefully your TR1 antenna works ok.   the kink in your picture looks bad. :(

Ohh, the kink.. I did not see it until now :?

Do you know how it would affect the warranty if i'm changing the 4965AG to 4965AGN?

wireless cards are considered system parts and system parts are not considered CRUs (customer-replaceable units).   however, if you change the card and have a warranty issue then just reinstall the original card before sending in your thinkpad.

If you swap the exact cards you stated, there would be no effect on warranty.
