Sonic Recordnow software won't install on X61s

I don't have an Ultrabase, but I do have a working USB DVD burner. System update keeps trying to install a multimedia pack which seems to be the RecordNow software that I have on all my other Thinkpads (This is #6!)

The install fails with no error message.

Does anybody know what's going on? Will it only install with an Ultrabase?
