Hi there,

I have ThinkPad X60 tablet and I am planning to buy an external slim DVD burner that must be bootable and doesnt require external power on reading CDs/DVDs.
I saw aLaCie Slim DVD±RW firewire external drivefor sale. On LaCie website, they claim that these drives take the power from firewire on running mode.
My questions do you think this drive will be bootable on X60 tablet?, and can it run fine on firewire without using AC adaptor?

any thoughts? or past experience with this drive?

As stated you need to power it.

And if you thought about getting a PCCard Firewire card with 6 pin. You still need external power. Those cards don't really put any power though the ports unless you put external power to them.
