Can somebody be so kind and make a backup of their X60/X60s BIOS and send it to me. I cannot use the files provided on IBM's website because these are in wrong format (need WPH or ROM). You can do it as follows:

1)
Download and extract the "Phoenix Winpflash Utility"
http://www.l2ptop.com/winphlash.zip

2)
Choose "Backup BIOS only"

3)
Take this PhoenixBIOS update for example
http://www.l2ptop.com/dummy.zip

4)
extract the DUMMY.WPH and locate it in "Specify new BIOS file" and choose "Advanced settings"

5)
Then deselect all clickboxes and press ok

6)
Now press "Backup BIOS"

7)
Accept the following message dialog box .and go on with backup your BIOS

8)
When backup process is finished, you will see the BIOS dump

Please email this file to me, thank you.

My machine still has problems from the last bios 'update.' When I remove the power the screen flickers off and on. Also I often can't get out of sleep. (X60S)

That's a well-known pathology that is not the fault of the BIOS, but rather a bug in the version of the Intel video driver that you have. Update the video driver and that "feature" will be gone ...
