Are they interchangeable. I just got the z61t and will probably get an x61s or x62s in the future(hopefully they will have a higher resolution screen) I'm also thinking about an t61p but am wondering if this dvd writer will fit in the x61s and t61p.

I have a DVD Multiburner II in my X6 Dock and also have a DVD Multiburner at hand that is mechanically a fit for the X6 dock/slice.

Could someone tell me the differences between the drives?

I routinely swap my CDRW with my DVD-DL in my Z60T, T60, X40 ultrabase, and X60 ultrabase.

I had a related question. Will my T40 CD-RW (for the slim bay) work with the X61 ultrabase? I think so. If not, kindly let me know.

Sorry but I'm pretty sure it won't. I heard that most of the 60 series will work each other but not with the 40 series

I think a Multiburner 2 is faster and handles DVD+R as well as DVD-R
