They're also having a sale now, so it's a GREAT time to buy. I config'd my system for $1060USD (~$1020CAD). Down from $1750USD. Awesome.

If only I needed a second one ;)

It really worked

#4 Post by GABohan » Sat Oct 27, 2007 6:41 am

Wow, what a deal! I have been watching the price of this machine for the past three months.

Used this coupon and ordered this morning.

Thanks for the tip. I had no idea these e-coupons where available.

What did you get?

ugh - don't tell me there was something even cheaper?!

Anyway, I went with the "more you spend the more you save" theory and ordered the x61s with every possible upgrade.

By a few tens B-)

There were some associations that have links that are cheaper for some series, eg T, but breakeven for X series. I saw a National Realtor link, a DC31 link, and some others....but I don't know if you need some ID or not to use those links (and the coupons don't work with these links, but the $ outcome is around what you got).

the only extra i can think of is fatwallet 3.5% cash rebate for being the referrer.

There was also a VISA card link a while back if you used it could offset. But I don't think anyone has all the time to try out all the combinations unless they have been formulating the combination for months.

besides thinkpads, you guys should check ecoupons for all online buys..

i just saved $16.50 by checking ecoupons..
at overstock.com..

i thought it was not worth checking and then i realized it was worth the effort..

and i'm not saying this because they are a forum supporter, either.. :)

a couple of months ago i got a 25% discount from lenovo on a special and an additional 20% from ecoupons..

I ordered an X61 Tablet earlier today with the coupon and ecoupons cash back. Total was around $1660 with tax and I should be getting like $60 back from ecoupons... good deal.

FYI, lenovo.com is still honoring the USPANNIV2628 coupon code. Don't know when it will stop, but it definitely didn't expire Sunday night as scheduled.

But keep in mind that there's some sort of sale pretty much all the time, so that system is almost never $1,750. You're still saving money, but not as much as it appears.

They don't ship them to Canada, and you need a US credit card and address. I looked into it, but you'll have to may basically half the price of the machine in taxes/duties to bring it over here...legally, if you have someone in the states to order it for you.
