x61 tablet MT hangs while trying to go to sleep

Dear All,

after spending a year off-thinkpad with a macbook, I am back to the club with an x61 tablet MT / 3Gb memory. It's a great machine, but i have a rather annoying problem:

My machine often fails to go to sleep (i suspend like 30 times a day, and get about 3-5 hangs). Screen goes black, fan stays on, power LEDs on, no sleep led, and nothing helps but the long power button hard-reset, which dropped my vista reliability index to like 2 of 10...

A small off topic discussion here recommended to remove Thinkvantage Access Connections, and that did help a little, but the problem remains, and I miss access control...

So, my questions are:
is your suspend stable?
anybody with similar problems? any ideas, hacks?

I could reinstall the system, but would do that as the last resort of course.. and i think this problem has been with me every since i got the tablet 3 weeks ago..

details:
vista business, Hungarian (at the next reinstall I'll choose English) standard installation but removed disk-keeper and now access control, zonealarm is running as a firewall. skype, outlook stay open usually. but none of these programs report errors.

Many thanks for your help!
