X61 or X61s battery will work on X61 tablet ?
I know this is a stupid question but I just got my first tablet thinkpad. I saw many eBay sellers offer pretty good price on X61/X61s batteries as brand new condition, if it's working on X61 tablet, I'll buy one instead of paying more money to Lenovo.

I'm not sure that is entirely true. I have the x61T and a co worker of mine had that battery that fits UNDER the system, almost like the Ultra Bay, and adds 2 hours on top of the 8 Cell that he had. It's the one that you can connect to the laptop withthe 8 cell or 4 cell battery.duffy wrote:No the tablet models use a different style battery.
He was using the 8 cell during the meeting and so had 10 hours of total battery life. When I asked for the model number of the battery, there was not a model number listed on it, just a serial number. Kind of ticked me off because THAT'S the one that I want. It tilts the laptop a little forward as well, looking like it's on a professional desk.
Anyone know what battery this is? Whatever one it is, it works for the x61T

There is only 8 cell high capacity battery (cylindric) [fits all X6x/s non tablet machines]
Enhanced battery is only available in 4 cell. (cylindric) [fits all X6x/s non tablet machines]
Slim Line Battery is only available in 4 cell (prismatic) and fits only X60s/X61s. It does not fit X60/X61 due to the bigger mass of fan construction on those machines.
4 cell Extended Life Battery goes into the X6 Ultrabase and the Ultrabase is same for all X6x/s non tablet machines.
8 cell tablet battery does not fit non tablet X6x/s machines.

I already told you in your recent thread that you created yesterday:spasell wrote:snip......It tilts the laptop a little forward as well, looking like it's on a professional desk. Anyone know what battery this is? Whatever one it is, it works for the x61T

With all due respect, you are DEAD wrong. I SAW the battery with the x61T right in front of my eyes. It was not a fake, it was not a different machine, and it did not interfere with anything. This battery worked for this machine. I even took it off and placed it on mine to make sure that it would fit, and, yup, it did. So, while people may not want to believe it, it's true. There is a slim line or some sort of battery that fits the x61T (yes, the TABLET), with a battery installed AT THE SAME TIME.ryengineer wrote:snipped
My question of "anyone know what battery this is" was not so that you could simply tell me to call Lenovo. Have you ever called them? Have you ever sat there on hold FOREVER? I think you know what I am talking about. I simply asked if anyone else has run across this battery.
I have contacted my co-worker and he is going to forward me the link to the site and the battery that he is using. When that happens, I'll place that information here.
MOD EDIT: At no point my intent was to make you "small", you could've shown some courtesy by going back to original thread of yours and continue the discussion there by telling me that wasn't the battery you were talking about rather than asking the very same question in another thread.

You are talking about Extended Life Battery (40Y7005) that fits ThinkPad X6xt series notebooks via the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase connector but not limited to.

The unique ThinkPad X60 Series Extended Life Battery provides up to 2.6 hours(1) of battery life. It connects to the bottom of the ThinkPad X60 Series notebook via the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase connector. The extended life battery keeps you unplugged longer and provides an integrated look and fit when you're on the move. (Note: The extended life battery cannot be used in or with the ThinkPad X6 UltraBase.), The extended life battery can also be used with ThinkPad X60 Series 4 Cell Enhanced Capacity (40Y7001) or ThinkPad X60 Series 4 Cell Slim Line (40Y6999) system batteries.

Snipe? No, sniping is what you are doing by responding to me like you just did.nonny wrote:Don't snipe at the moderators and other users who are trying to help you.spasell wrote:My question of "anyone know what battery this is" was not so that you could simply tell me to call Lenovo.
If anything, I was made to feel stupid initially. The problem with these forums is that sometimes, they do not accomplish what they are supposed to. My understanding for forums like these are to educate and assist, share ideas at times, rather than scold and tell someone what they should know rather than what they doknow.
There are forums all over set up for people that are experts in these areas to talk. I was not under the impression that was the intent of this one. Apparently I was wrong.
The good thing? He helped me by actually answering the very question I asked and answered it directly. Unfortunately, rather than doing so from the start, it's apparent there was a need to make me feel small rather than just end the discussion.
My comment wasn't meant as a suggestion or a point to be debated.
