Critical Vista update for "Intel(R) Turbo Memory Driver

Greetings all,

For an X61 Tablet running Vista Business, when the "ThinkVantage System Update" application is run, it always returns a "Critical update" tab item for "Intel(R) Turbo Memory Driver for Windows Vista."

But after downloading, installing, restarting, and running the Update application again, this critical update appears again. Does this happen for anyone else? A Turbo Memory module is installed, and appears as "IMD-0" under "Disk drives" in the "Device manager."

Is the module defective? Or is it the update? How can someone check, besides sending it to Lenovo (...and possibly getting it back in worse shape.)

Thanks!
Fox

There's a bug in Thinkvantage System Update and no, Microsoft Windows is not overwriting the updates.

System Update continues to show Hotfixes that are installed.

How to VERIFY my Intel Turbo Memory is working?.

Do *any* of the fixes install? I have not been able to install any of them recently, critical or otherwise, using the System Update application after selecting them. They download, go through install, and then claim "X packages failed to install" where X is all of the packages I selected.

You can manually install them:

Downloads and drivers - ThinkPad X61 Tablet.

At times particular packages don't get installed when they're not meant for your machine and at others due to buggy behavior of System Update.

Good suggestion.

I can report that upon manually updating the System Update program, the other relevant updates except the Turbo Memory driver update properly using System Update.

Good luck all,
Fox
