My X61 has been updated to latest BIOS (1.08) I've look into it and have a few question regarding its functionality. Hope someone can enlight me on these issues.

1) I have found a function call Intel (R) AMT (Active Management Technology) in F1>Config>Intel (R) AMT which is currently disable. What is this function? Should I turn it on?

2) In F1>Config>CPU> there is "Intel (R) Virtualization Technology" which is also disabled. What is this function for? If I run some virtual machin eapplication e.g. Virtualbox, VMWare for linux on Windows, do I need to turn this function on?

3) In F1>Config>Serial Port is disable. Again, what is this function for and do I need it to be on?

Thank you for all your help

3. Enabling it would do nothing because your machine does not have Serial port, the setting is there for you to set when you connect it with a X6 Ultrabase. (which has serial port by the way)

1. Only if you have a need for it.

Some information from Intel:

Intel® Active Management Technology

Setup guide

2. I think so, yes.
