Hi Guys ,

so i was just booting up my x60 and going through my mail when tilted the screen a bit back and coud swear i saw the lcd move inside the case ...

Shure enough i checked it out and realised that if i hold it by thumbs from both side it will move up and down cca 3milimeters on each side

The left to right try seamed to be oka but up and down the gap is noticable ....

Now is this something normal or its just me as i think if the lcd is not fixed sturdy in the case in time can damage the connection to the botom part ?

I might add that atm im not experiencing any problems with the screen in terms of any anomalies , flickering etc ...

all comments welcomed .

Kind regards Laz

There is nothing normal about what you describe. It sounds as if you have an Ultralight screen in an non-Ultralight enclosure. Can that be the case or is this a factory-built machine? The other possibility is that the LCD panel is not screwed to the hinges, so it "floats" inside the case. There are no other possibilities for what you describe.

If the screen is in its correct enclosure and screwed to the hinges, then there is no way anything can move around. The fit is tight and perfect.

Oka ,

so thats what i thought that it shoud not be like this ... the machine is factory build im pretty sure about that .

That said is there any way how to determine what kinda screen i have and what kinda enclosure ?

Regarding the thightening of the screews is there any way i coud check that and if yes where this screws are ?

I mean its bothering me as the moving coud eventionaly couse some damage to the conecction etc.

What you need to do is remove the LCD bezel and look inside. The reason nothing can move around if assembled properly is because the LCD panel is screwed to the hinges, and the hinges are screwed to the plastic case. All the parts become "one part"; there is nothing loose.

You can remove the LCD bezel by removing 9 screws: 3 on the front bottom, and 3 each on the left and right sides.

Look at the Hardware Maintenance Manual starting on Page 93 (page 93 as printed on the pages of the manual, not the PDF page numbering) for detailed disassembly/assembly instructions.

Good luck!
