x60s N Network Adapter Fails After Resume From Sleep (Vista)

#1 Post by dogen » Sat Dec 01, 2007 2:08 pm

Hi guys,

Has someone else experienced this issue and solved it? Everytime my x60s resumes from sleep mode I end up having to eject the D-Link DWA-652 Xtreme N Notebook Adapter and reinserting it to re-establish my connection to the internet and it's getting rather annoying.

This is happening on a Vista Business installation with minimal Lenovo bloatware (bare minimum Lenovo drivers only).

I used the forum search for keywords 'x60s' and 'vista' and went through a ton of threads searching for this issue to no avail.

Besides this issue Vista has been flawless besides the fact that I get ~1:00 less battery life but since I still get over 5 hours on an 8 cell I'm still content.

I don't have Vista or your card, but here are some general troubleshooting questions:

1. Are your card's drivers up to date?
2. What are you using to manage the card's connection (Vista's client, the card's client, or Access Connection)?

I thought I'd share my findings considering how much I benefited from the information in this forum.

After speaking with a Lenovo rep, this is apparently a known problem with sleep mode in Vista and PCMCIA devices. Apparently most of these issues will be addressed with SP1.

Hopefully it will be coming out this month...
