Easy Eject Utility, Does it worth keeping it?

#1 Post by kookatt » Sun Dec 02, 2007 7:08 am

I can't see the benefit of easy eject utility? Unlike presentation director or access connection which I use regularly, the easy eject utility actually does what windows XP does regarding undock?

What is the different between MS XP undock and easy eject then? Should I keep it? Please give me your views.

Thanks

Easy Eject is for swapping devices in the Ultrabay. It senses when you release the eject lever and safely removes the device in windows. If you never remove your DVD drive you probably don't need it.

I recommend keeping it and using it when running USB drives and flash drives, etc. Just yanking the plug on a USB device really can cause some problems on the drives (which requires running CHKDSK to fix) and as the other poster said, it's good for hot swapping the ultra bay hardware.

Sure you can use the Safe to Remove feature that is already there on the taskbar, but it is overly clunky and not as elegant as Easy Eject.
