Battery longevity A vs. B
I have had the X61 for about 2 weeks, it replaced my Toshiba M4 Tablet. X61 is Rock solid, and very pleased.
I use the X61 through out the day and want to know the best way to treat the battery, so here are my options.
A: I can use the X61 for an hour taking notes, then plug in for 15 minutes, and use it for an hour and keep this constant cycle of recharging it through out the day, untill the charge is completed.
B: I can use it and put it in standby constantly to keep the charge as full as posable, and not constantly doing small charges throughout the day. Limit the recharges to just overnight charge.
Will I get better performance out of the battery by using it throughout the day and not keep 'topping off' the battery?
Is that constantly adding a charge to the battery, limiting the life my my 8 cell battery?
Thanks,
Tim

The IBM software has options for handling this automatically, so you can just plug in whenever possible and let the software decide whether to charge or not.
Charging to 100% over and over is bad. I would recommend setting the max to 80-90% if you're not always going to use the full battery time, and then set the starting threshold to minimize the total number of charges (60%?),

WOW,, That is COOL
Coming from the Toshiba camp I had no expierience with IBM battery software. I will go through and probly set your suggested peramitors, but I am glad I asked.
Any more information would be great. I will do a search and see what else I can find.
Thanks...
