Very confusing topic.
What SD cards are known to work for ReadyBoost on an X61. I have 3GB of RAM.

I'm just using a 1GB SanDisk SD card.
My system has 4GB of RAM, and I've never noticed a speed/performance increase with Readyboost. I'm thinking it's one of those "do nothing Vista features"
I've used it on multiple systems with RAM as low as 512MB and I've noticed no difference on any of them.

My SanDisk Ultra II 1GB didn't work. It says that its performance is not good enough. I have 4GB RAM though. So I am not missing that little performance boost.

I'm using a Sandisk 2GB mini-SD card in an SD carrier and it works well in an X61 7676 with a 7200rpm HDD and 2GB of RAM. I did notice an overall improvement in responsiveness.... not at WOW! level, but worthwhile none the less.
Cheers,
Bill B.

with 4GB system ram, you'll probably never notice a difference when using readyboost since vista will prioritize system memory over removable devices.

I think this feature was made for USB Thumb drives, because I plugged one of them into my system, and it only has 1.2 gigs of ram, so the increase was noticeable.

I purchased a sony 4 mb 'microvault' drive.
It made a significant difference.
