1. Not certain you can get 64-bit on an 'X', try 866-96-THINK to ask sales.

2. Order the machine with 1 GB RAM and order two 2 GB RAM sticks from www.newegg.com (PC-5300) for about $40 each and you'll save a lot of money.

3. Consider getting WWAN as a seperate USB/PCMCIA because you may decide you want to change providers (e.g. Sprint EVDO is probably much better and you don't need a voice contract with them the way you do with Verizon). Also, you can't get built-in WWAN and Ultralight screen.

4. You can only get XGA with 'X' series.

5. Search around for Lenovo coupons for 'X' series. One just expired, but there might be others.

6. Also consider getting a small external USB 2.0 drive. Sony makes a couple of them instead of getting the dock.

If you look at the ThinkPad reserve on the lenovo website, they actually have the built-in WWAN and Ultralight screen as a packet. Are you saying that it's not possible to have it configured in the regular X61s? :?

Anyway thanks for the info and fast reply.

True, the Reserve Edition does offer the combination and I pointed that out to sales three weeks ago but they said that although many people were asking for that combination in a regular laptop that it was not yet available. I'd call sales to see if that has changed.

4: the 12.1" SXGA+ display is only available on the tablet, not the notebook

*it's easy to change this to 64-bit once you receive the unit.   see this guide for more info.

Well, tablet PC is also a part of X series that lets you have SXGA+ AFFS display.
