Track easyserv repair in Canada?

I'm really envious of all of you with new X61 tablets that have actually worked since you received them.

Anyway. I received my new X61 at the end of November. It worked for a few hours and then the backlight started acting up. It went back to Easyserv at the start of last week.

I found a link on the Lenovo Canada website for tracking easyserv repairs. It links to a page at ibm.com where I'm asked for my model number, serial number and case number. When I enter them, it comes back with something like "no such record exists".

So... maybe that's because Easyserv only keeps track of American repairs? Any ideas how I can find out what's up with this machine?

That is correct. If you would like to get an up-to-date status of your repair then call EasyServ or IBM Support Center, a lady will follow up with you shortly afterwards.
