I got a X60S from a guy, who bought bunch of them when X60S were clearance. It is new sealed, i just open it and register it in Lenovo site.
But the guy refused to give me the recipe because his visa number on it.
my question is, the warranty is transfered to me now?
I know IBM would repair your laptop since your S/N number was not expired before.
but do they(lenovo) change the policy now?
This laptop has 3 year warranty, not sure it is international or so

Lenovo does not require a receipt as proof of purchase prior to doing maintenance on your laptop. The maintenance stays with the laptop, not the owner. As far as international warranties and how they work in Canada for service, I'll let the Canadian guys speak to that.

Use this tool to see when your warranty expires:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... -WARNTY#sw
Use the lookup tool below to see if you're covered in Canada/Internationally:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... OOK-IWS#sw
When the day comes that you need service, call the 800 number listed beside "Canada" (or whatever host country you are currently living, vacationing, etc. and assuming the country is on the above IWS list for your laptop) and you're off to the races.

I don't believe many people steal
sealed thinkpads. In Canada you would need to call IBM Support Center to register the thinkpad and warranty in your name.
Toll free # 1-800-565-3344 or 416-383-3344 in Toronto.

The above link says that my warranty cannot be found for my X61T. Anyone else getting that?
