"Fingerprint" option disabled in Client Security S

I am installing a TP X60 "from scratch". Lenovo didn't have the drivers for the embedded fingerprint reader, so I downloaded and installed them from Ubek. (Everything else was downloaded and installed via System Update.) Device Manager now shows the reader is functioning properly.

I then ran System Update and let it download and install the registry patch for the reader, and CSS 5.6, which it did successfully.

Now, however, when I go into CSS, the "Fingerprint" option down the left side is grayed out, like it doesn't recognize the reader. I can't seem to determine how to "enable" it in CSS. The BIOS shows the reader is enabled, and Device Manager see it correctly, so I know the OS can see it.

Any ideas? (I've tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling already.)

Thanks,
Karl

To use the fingerprint software with CSS, you need more than just the fingerprint device drivers. You need to download the Thinkvantage Fingerprint software. The best way to find it is to google "download thinkvantage fingerprint software".

That did it!

That worked. I feel stupid now! The Fingerprint Software didn't show up or get installed by System Update, but I didn't think to check the Lenovo web site manually. Thanks for the gentle "reminder"! :-)
